Ahead of the highly anticipated NCIS: Tony & Ziva spinoff, actors Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo have reunited with original franchise star Sasha Alexander. The trio shared their reunion through sweet behind-the-scenes photos posted on Alexander’s Instagram. Their get-together was part of the new podcast Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch, where Weatherly and de Pablo revisit classic episodes with guests from the franchise’s past and present.
Although Sasha Alexander’s character, Kate Todd, was killed off in season 2, her legacy still lingers in the NCIS universe. She recently appeared through archival footage in the show’s 1000th episode, reigniting fan hopes that her presence may not be entirely gone. NCIS has brought Kate back before in the form of hallucinations, so there’s always a chance for creative cameos in future seasons.
Beyond acting, Alexander could also play a behind-the-scenes role in the spinoff. With past directing credits, including an episode of Weatherly’s series Bull, she’s well-positioned to step into a directorial role on Tony & Ziva. Given her strong ties with both lead actors, her involvement would be a natural fit for the new chapter in the NCIS franchise.
Despite the recent cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i, the franchise remains vibrant. With Tony & Ziva set to stream on Paramount+, fan excitement is building—and the possibility of Sasha Alexander’s return, in any form, only adds to the buzz.
