Michael Weatherly, known for his portrayal of Special Agent Tony DiNozzo on CBS’s NCIS for 13 seasons, shared heartbreaking news over the weekend. Weatherly’s younger brother, Will Weatherly, passed away on April 20th, 2023.
In a touching Twitter post, Michael wrote, “My younger brother Will Weatherly shed his mortal coil and now continues his journey through the universe. He was always interested in traveling. Brother, may you rest in peace.”
The actor, who has four half-sisters, usually keeps his personal life quiet. However, following his declaration, followers swamped his social media pages with sympathy. A supporter said, “Wishing you and your family strength and your brother peace on his journey.” Another said, “Let his love of travel inspire you to keep exploring and making new memories.”
Weatherly, also known for his role as Dr. Jason Bull in CBS’s legal drama Bull, which concluded last year, has hinted at a possible return to NCIS. Fans are hopeful, but no official confirmation has been made.
