Roseanne Barr Said She Would Die Many Times Following Her Dismissal And Revealed

Share Article

Following her dismissal from the “Roseanne” revival in 2018 due to a controversial tweet, Roseanne Barr has opened up about the profound emotional toll it took on her. She described the experience as a “witch-burning,” feeling as though she was being punished for her beliefs. Barr recalled moments of despair, stating, “I would die many times… the devil himself was coming against me to try to tear me apart.”

The abrupt cancellation of the show, which had been a major hit for ABC, left Barr feeling betrayed by both the network and her former colleagues. She was particularly hurt by the decision to kill off her character in the spinoff series “The Conners,” interpreting it as a message implying she should “commit suicide.”

Despite the immense personal and professional setbacks, Barr has found resilience through her faith and the support of a few close friends. She expressed gratitude for comedian Mo’Nique, who publicly stood by her during the controversy. Barr now describes herself as having “survived” the ordeal and is making a comeback with a new stand-up special, “Cancel This!”

As she continues to navigate the aftermath of her public fallout, Barr remains outspoken about her experiences, using her platform to share her story and reclaim her narrative.
